Job Description Responsible for planning, organizing, and delegating duties and responsibilities of laboratory personnel under the direction of an in cooperation with the Chief Medical Officer. Will provide technical supervision for each of the specialties and the subspecialties of service in which the laboratory performs high complexity testing. Responsibilities and Duties * Manage the technical supervision for each of the specialties and subspecialties of service in which the laboratory performs high complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88. * Assists with the day-to-day performing of laboratory tests. * Responsible for the completion of the laboratory work load. * Handles all discrepancies in laboratory results, controls, and machinery and is responsible for the appropriate corrections. * Conducts a quality assurance program in the laboratory. * Ensures there is adequate personnel coverage and supplies for the work load. * Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures and is responsible for personnel in department to be adhered also. * Promotes a service orientation to all persons (patients, employees, or visitors) who come to the clinic. * Responsible for the supervision of radiology. * Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills * Working knowledge of the principles of laboratory clinical medical technology. * Training and/or experience to provide the technical supervision for each of the specialties and subspecialties of service in which the laboratory performs high complexity testing. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Knowledge of the four major disciplines of laboratory practice. * Knowledge and understanding of Radiology. * Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * Bilingual English/Spanish. Required Education * Graduated from an accredited Medical Technologist Program with a baccalaureate degree. Required Experience * Over five years experience after completing an accredited Medical Technology (M.T.) with at least two years supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory. Desired Education * Certified as a Medical Technologist.
