DescriptionPosition Overview: The Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing a wide range of repair, upkeep, and improvement tasks throughout the facility. This role requires general knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, carpentry/woodworking, and basic building systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to respond quickly to maintenance needs in a busy environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems. Carry out minor electrical repairs (e.g., lighting, outlets, switches) and basic plumbing tasks (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing leaks). Complete carpentry/woodworking tasks such as repairing furniture, shelving, or wooden structures throughout the spa. Assist with maintenance of mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, and boilers. Support spa operations by ensuring all areas remain safe, operational, and presentable. Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly, communicating status updates to management. Help with facility setups, furniture movement, and various labor tasks as needed. Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with facility guidelines. Qualifications: Experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or a related trade. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry/woodworking practices. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds as required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication and time-management skills. Black Seal Boiler License (High Pressure) is optional - training will be provided by Island Spa & Sauna if needed. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts when required.
