Mental Health Coordinator Contract Assignment Location: Eden, Texas 76837 Duration: 13 Weeks Schedule: 5x8 Hour Shifts Day Shift Employment Type: Contract / Temporary Assignment Position Summary The Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering non-medical clinical mental health services within a correctional facility setting. This role provides comprehensive mental health assessments, counseling, treatment planning, and crisis intervention services for the inmate population while maintaining professional standards, ethical conduct, and strict confidentiality. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties efficiently while meeting institutional performance expectations and maintaining compliance with correctional healthcare policies. Key Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings and clinical assessments through review of records, interviews, and behavioral observations. Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnosis, and level of functioning. Provide therapeutic counseling services and behavioral interventions to assigned caseload. Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the healthcare record. Monitor inmate progress and adjust treatment interventions accordingly. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with professional and institutional standards. Apply psychological counseling theories and evidence-based treatment techniques. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare and correctional staff to support patient care. Promote a safe, therapeutic, and structured clinical environment. Required Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of clinical mental health experience. At least two (2) years of experience in a comparable mental health coordinator or clinical counseling role. Demonstrated experience performing mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention. Strong clinical documentation and case management skills. Ability to work effectively within a correctional or secure environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in correctional, forensic, or institutional behavioral health settings. Experience managing diverse or high-acuity behavioral health caseloads. Familiarity with crisis management and behavioral stabilization techniques.
