What You'll Do: Operate advanced screening technology to detect hazardous items in luggage and on passengers Conduct thorough screenings and searches, including pat-downs and inspections of bags Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs and maintain focus in a busy, high-pressure environment Manage entry and exit points of the terminal and address traveler inquiries Adhere to TSA protocols and adjust to any new procedures as they arise Minimum Qualifications: To be considered, candidates must meet one of the following: Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET/TASC) Experience: One year of full-time work in security, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician. Both paid and volunteer experiences will be considered. Requirements to Be Hired: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National At least 18 years of age by application date Must pass the TSA computer-based test Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long durations Hiring Process: Eligible candidates will be required to take the TSA computer-based test (TAB CBT), which is a timed assessment focusing on attention to detail, X-ray/object recognition, and reading comprehension.
