Your Role Barr is excited to welcome a Human Resources Specialist to our team, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our Engineering and Design (ED) business unit and collaborating with Corporate Human Resources. In this hybrid position, you'll contribute to HR-related activities that drive success for ED-aligned staff and the overall organization. Your Impact – Key Responsibilities Staffing and Recruiting: Partner with business unit leadership to identify staffing needs and facilitate the recruiting and hiring process, either independently or in collaboration with corporate recruiters. Talent Management: Assist in developing integration plans, conducting talent reviews, and managing workloads. HR Projects: Participate in or lead various HR projects at the business unit or company level, focusing on areas such as employee engagement, data evaluation, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and industry benchmarking. Compensation: Support the processes related to compensation and bonus setting. Employee Relations: Provide guidance on matters related to employee relations, performance management, and policy application. Staff Development: Coordinate coaching initiatives and staff development programs. About This Opportunity Hybrid Work Arrangement: Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, splitting time between our office and home. This position is based in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices. Travel Expectation: Occasional travel to offices in the U.S. or Canada is preferred. About You – Required Core Competencies Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment laws. Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and establish relationships across various geographic locations. Consultative problem-solving skills. Strong aptitude for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data concisely. Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future. Helpful Additional Experience (Not Required) Experience: 8 years of related experience. Knowledge of Canadian employment law. Understanding of immigration laws. Experience within engineering, professional service, or consulting firms. Compensation: Anticipated salary range of $72,000-$93,000 annually, with variations based on relevant experience, education, and skills. This position may qualify for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. It is classified as exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
