Transportation and Safety Manager

You'll work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and vendors to maintain a high-performing, compliant fleet operation.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the daily management and compliance of all company vehicles within the moving and relocation fleetMaintain driver qualification files, ELD records, and IFTA reporting in line with DOT and FMCSA regulationsEnsure all vehicles have up-to-date registrations, permits, and documentationSchedule and track preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtimeConduct regular fleet inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety complianceDeliver safety training programs including defensive driving and cargo securementLead accident investigations and manage insurance claims processesImplement corrective actions to prevent future incidents and improve safety standardsAct as the main point of contact for DOT audits and roadside inspectionsManage relationships with fuel vendors, repair shops, and equipment suppliersCoordinate container drayage operations, including dispatching drivers for port collectionsSource and purchase packing materials from approved vendorsKey Skills & Experience:3-5 years of experience in fleet management or transportation safety ideally within the moving and relocation industryStrong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulationsExperience with fleet maintenance programs and compliance systemsProficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and OutlookStrong communication skills and ability to work independentlyCDL Class A or B preferred with a clean driving record
