Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSEThis position is responsible for supporting all aspects of Fixture Design from a project management and coordination perspective, including all initiatives related to fixtures and material projects for Ross & dd's stores. The responsibilities include but not limited to manage vendor portfolio, support vendor onboarding to broaden the company's vendor portfolio looking for cost effective approach, support internal business partners when necessary, manufacturing drawings revision and assembly instruction development. A key component of this role is understanding the Ross and dd's brands and their current fixture programs, brand rules & fixture standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Exercises a high degree of project management expertise to drive development and support of all aspects of a project in Fixture Design.Drive results by working closely/managing fixture vendors ensuring timelines and milestones are achieved while understanding vendor's capabilities such as: manufacturing methods, QC/QA, materials, finishes, logistic and lead-time. Knowledge of fixture industry, design lifecycle and broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques to sustain quality control over the vendor's fixture manufacturing processes under Ross' standards including manufacturing drawing revisions and assembly instruction development.Responsible for managing vendors and holding accountability through written and verbal communication by participating in weekly vendor conference calls, renderings/drawing reviews, prototype set-up & reviews, providing direction & feedback through recaps to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.Analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are executed on time while supporting the workload management/measuring for new initiatives, Refresh and Remodels through collaboration with the Fixture Design team and internal business partners to keep projects on-track. Supports Fixture Design lab activities including but not limited to; fixture's inventory, prototype/sample review & set-up, reorganization, purging fixtures, maintaining the standards to keep the facility neat, clean and organized.Support business partners inquiries, new store, refresh and remodels with POC projects, planning & execution, store visits/lab reviews ensuring fixture qualities, function, and finish from prototype to production remain unchanged.COMPETENCIES:Drive for ResultsPlanningProcess ManagementProblem SolvingManaging and Measuring WorkCritical Thinking Written & Verbal CommunicationOrganizationQUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:Bachelor's Degree in retail, business or design related field preferred.1-3+ years of either retail Store, Corporate and/or Manufacturing industry experience required.1-3+ years' experience in fixture and/or furniture management, design and/or testing.Proficient in Project ManagementProficient in Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Photoshop and Smartsheet is a plus.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).Analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to interpret/review renderings and manufacturer drawings/details. CAD/CAM systems is a plus. Proficiency to work autonomously and deliver accurate data on-time.High degree of reliability, including accountability for daily, weekly, and long-term projects.Able to use a variety of measurement and inspection techniques to ensure QA/QC. Hands-on experience preferred.Structural knowledge, Failure Mode Analysis, Building code understanding and/or technical field background is desired.
