The following statements are intended to describe the major functions of the position and should not be taken as an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of individuals assigned to this job. • Perform a full range of general surgical procedures. • Participate in shared call coverage for surgical emergencies. • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care. • Provide preoperative and postoperative consultations, education, and follow-up. • Document all patient encounters and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner. • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory standards. • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review processes. • Serve as an advocate for patient safety and community health education. RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution. • Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program. • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (American Board of Surgery). • Current, unrestricted Idaho medical license (or eligibility to obtain). • Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification. • Minimum 2 years of post-residency experience preferred (new graduates considered). • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
