GENERAL PURPOSE: As a Retail Security Specialist, your main responsibility will be to maintain a secure store environment by preventing theft and fraud while ensuring safety for both Associates and Customers. You will foster a welcoming atmosphere by greeting customers and making eye contact, all while displaying a strong presence in a company-issued vest and required black attire. Collaboration with Store Leadership to implement Loss Prevention strategies will be key to minimizing operational shortages. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring Safety and Security: Prioritize safety in all actions, aiding Store Leadership in upholding a secure environment for everyone. Provide a visible presence by greeting customers and monitoring safety issues while dressed in attractive, company-issued attire. Ensure that pathways, especially near emergency exits, are clear and safe. Building Relationships: Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Respect all customers and associates, promoting a recognition-focused culture within the team. Engage regularly with internal and external partners to promote collaboration and shared learning. Assume additional responsibilities to enhance Loss Prevention efforts. Protecting Company Assets: Monitor the sales floor and entrances/exits for any suspicious activity. Compile theft indicators and communicate insights with Store and Loss Prevention Leadership. Adhere to company guidelines and best practices when addressing theft. Streamline workflow by optimizing job processes. Reducing Operational Shortages: Raise awareness among store personnel about procedures to minimize shortages. Ensure compliance with checkout protocols for all transactions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; an AA degree is preferred. One year of experience in retail supervision or related training is highly valuable. Training in loss prevention or security is a plus. An active Security Guard License is desirable. Ability to excel in a dynamic environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated conflict resolution abilities. Compliance with federal and state regulations regarding security personnel is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Consistent punctuality and attendance are crucial. Ability to spend the majority of time walking or standing. Capability to lift objects over 25 lbs and perform physical tasks as necessary. Other requirements may vary depending on duties assigned.
