GENERAL PURPOSE: As a Store Security Specialist, your main responsibility is to safeguard the store environment by preventing theft and fraud while ensuring a safe space for both Associates and Customers. You will create a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and making eye contact, all while showcasing a strong presence in a company-issued vest and required black attire. You will work closely with Store Leadership to implement Loss Prevention strategies and minimize operational shortages. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring Safety and Security: Prioritize safety in all actions, assisting Store Leadership in maintaining a secure environment for all. Provide a visible presence by greeting customers and monitoring for safety issues in attractive, company-issued attire. Maintain clear and safe pathways, particularly near emergency exits. Building Relationships: Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Respect all customers and associates and promote a culture of recognition within the team. Engage regularly with internal and external partners to foster collaboration and shared learning. Fulfill additional responsibilities to support Loss Prevention efforts. Protecting Company Assets: Monitor the sales floor and entrances/exits for suspicious activity. Compile theft indicators and share insights with Store and Loss Prevention Leadership. Follow company guidelines and best practices for addressing theft. Enhance workflow efficiency by optimizing job processes. Reducing Operational Shortages: Raise awareness among store personnel about practices to mitigate shortages. Ensure proper procedures are followed at checkout for all transactions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred. One year of experience in retail supervision or related training considered valuable. Training in loss prevention or security is a plus. An active Security Guard License is desirable. Capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Evidence of effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to adhere to relevant federal and state regulations regarding security personnel. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Consistent punctuality and attendance are expected. Ability to spend most of your time walking or standing. Capable of lifting objects over 25 lbs. and performing physical tasks as needed. Other requirements may vary by assignments.
