Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Coverage Needed Start Date: January 2026 End Date: July 2026 (possibly longer) Schedule: Full Time 4 Day weekend schedule Call 24 hour call Clinical Details Specialty: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery APP EMR: EPIC Primarily Inpatient Call: 1-2 weekday calls/week and 1 in 3 weekends Support Staff: Surgeons, fellow APCs, nursing Responsibilities: CVSICU post-op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases Procedures: Chest Tube Placement, Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) Capable, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage Patient Encounters per Shift: 10-20 60 day credentialing Requirements Certifications: ACLS/BLS Vaccination: Influenza vaccine may be declined if practitioner wears mask per health system policy Licensure: will take IMLC candidates, Standard licensing candidates, and Active License will look at candidates who need a license No less than a 3 month commitment, preferably 6 months Providers must have experience with chest tube placement and skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvest Prefer open radial artery harvest Must be available full time and able to take call
