Job Description:
KVC Missouri Community Based Services Location: Poplar Bluff, MO Job Summary The Shelter Manager oversees daily operations of the Crisis Center, ensuring a safe, trauma-informed, and supportive environment for women and their children (up to age 16) escaping domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, homelessness, and other crisis situations. This role supervises staff, coordinates shelter services, and ensures compliance with safety and program standards while supporting access to emergency housing, meals, counseling, advocacy, and life-stabilizing resources. The Shelter Manager works closely with case management and community partners to help clients build life skills, achieve housing and employment stability, and move toward long-term independence. Education: Bachelor's Degree Qualifications: Strong customer service focus, excellent time management, oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and email applications. Skills required include organizational and interpersonal skills Possess a current, valid Class E driver's license and meet Agency requirements for insurance Experience: Three years' work experience in a residential setting Demonstrated leadership and strong organizational skills Demonstrated ability in behavior management and managing case work Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with referral agencies, families and staff Preferred Experience/Skills: Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling and licensed or seeking licensure as a LPC or LCSW Supervisory experience Experience working in a trauma informed environment Benefits: Paid Time Off Enjoy a generous amount of leave to support your work-life balance.
