This is a full time, 9-month position with teaching responsibilities on our Demorest campus. The start date for this position is August 1, 2026. The successful candidate with teach sections of General Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and courses in the faculty member's areas of interest/expertise. The position has a 4/4 teaching load with the possibility of summer teaching and overload teaching as it's available. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesEffective classroom, lab, and clinical teaching and interacting with students in a professional manner.Maintaining accurate and secure records of student grades, attendance, and advisement.Maintaining high standards of professionalism in all courses' content, objectives, teaching, and grading.Maintaining an understanding of college policies and their respective colleges' curriculum and degree requirements.Participating in departmental, school, and college faculty meetings and serving on committees as appropriate.Contributing to the ongoing operation of their respective departments and colleges.Assessing their teaching effectiveness via annual portfolios and evaluating courses formally in accordance with official college procedure.Assuring their availability to students, faculty, staff, and administrators by posting and keeping reasonable office hours, as determined by the dean of their respective colleges.Maintaining a professional level of scholarship by continuous study, research, and attendance and participation at professional meetings. The college supports these activities through departmental travel funds and the faculty development program.Other relevant duties as assigned.Regular and predictable attendance is required.On-site work is required.Incumbents must remain relevant in the area of employment and flexible to changes in work related to institutional needs. Typical Qualifications Education and QualificationsPhD in Psychology or a related fieldPrevious higher education experience preferredLicenses and CertificationsValid Georgia Driver's License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR. Supplemental InformationENVIRONMENTAL, PHYSICAL, and VISUAL ACUITY FACTORSWork will be performed inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents will perform primarily sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
