Sr Cost Accountant Company: Exemplis Department: Accounting Location: Cypress, CA, US, 90630 Work Designation: Hybrid Salary Range: $78,077.00 - $117,115.00 Position Summary: Cost Accounting whiz, we're looking for you! Bring your Accounting acumen and we'll provide you with the opportunity to apply and further enhance your knowledge in audits, internal controls, general ledger, and cross-functional analysis. This position will help drive operational efficiencies, cost reductions, process improvements, lean principles, and best-in-class reporting across the enterprise. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work three days per week in Cypress, CA (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Perform monthly cost accounting close, including journal entries and reconciliations. Analyze manufacturing variances (purchase price variance and scrap). Monitor and analyze inventory valuation, reserves, and cycle count results. Maintain and update standard costing system for products and materials. Conduct outside warehouse monthly reconciliations. Support annual standard cost rollups. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost savings and process improvements. Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to manufacturing costs. Support annual physical inventory across all brands at multiple production/warehouse facilities. Support internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting. Improve and automate cost accounting processes and reporting. Support carrier claims process by providing inventory/labor cost inputs. Maintain the fixed asset sub ledger and ensure all assets are accurately recorded, capitalized, and depreciated. Review and process additions, disposals, and asset modifications. Monitor construction in progress (CIP) and work with project managers to close out completed projects. Support Manager with ad hoc projects. Qualifications, Skills and Education: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting 4+ Years relevant work experience in manufactory industry or ecommerce Experience with Microsoft Dynamic 365 or Microsoft Dynamic AX Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites: Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word Excellent understanding of GAAP Detail-oriented, organized and ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly while maintaining control of deliverables Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in public accounting Inventory or cost accounting experience in manufacturing industry Experience with ERP implementation CPA certification Perks and Benefits: In addition to our unique culture, we also offer these fun perks and benefits.
