Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key Responsibilities:Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), schedule variesDuration: 13 weeks (05/18/2026 - 08/15/2026)Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekOvertime: Daily OT after 24 hours (based on multiplier); Weekly OT after 40 hours (based on multiplier)On-Call: NoManage care for an assigned group of medical-surgical and orthopedic patientsProvide post-operative care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries (joint replacements, fracture repairs, spine surgeries, etc.)Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on individual patient needsAdminister medications including pain management, IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and other acute medicationsMonitor patients for post-operative complications including infection, blood clots, and painAssist with patient mobilization, fall prevention, and use of assistive devicesCollaborate with physical and occupational therapists for patient rehabilitationEducate patients and families on post-operative care, medication management, and discharge planningPerform NIH stroke scale assessments as requiredDocument all care accurately in the EMRMaintain patient safety and infection control standardsWork with a team of healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomesCandidate Type: Travel OnlyLocal candidates within 50 miles will not be consideredLocation: Cumming, GeorgiaUnit Details: 32-bed inpatient surgical unitPatient Population: Medical-surgical with orthopedics focusScrub Color: Navy BlueKey Requirements and Technology Experience: Key skills; Minimum 2 years of recent experience within MedSurg / Orthopedic specialtyActive RN license in the State of Georgia or valid eNLC compact multi-state licenseAHA BLS certificationNIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Scale certificationExperience on an inpatient surgical unit with orthopedic patient populationStrong medical-surgical assessment and patient care skillsAHA ACLS certificationEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursingActive RN license in the State of Georgia or valid eNLC compact multi-state license.AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)NIH Stroke Scale CertificationAHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferredMinimum 2 years of recent experience within MedSurg / Orthopedic specialtyExperience on an inpatient surgical unit - requiredOrthopedic post-operative care experience strongly preferredStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilitiesExcellent pain management and post-operative care skillsEffective communication and patient education abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamProficiency in medication administration and EMR documentationOur client is a leading Healthcare Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
