Armed Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY: Join our team as an Armed Security Officer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of client property, visitors, and personnel. Under the guidance of the site manager, you will engage in a diverse array of security responsibilities, including monitoring activities, managing access, and responding to emergencies with the appropriate level of force. You will help maintain a secure environment and uphold regulations for all individuals on the premises. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Control access to the facility and prevent unauthorized entry while assisting legitimate visitors and employees with efficient screening. Respond to emergencies and unusual situations, utilizing the appropriate escalation of force and maintaining proficiency with assigned weapons and safety equipment. Provide a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that all clients and visitors receive courteous and respectful service. Communicate effectively in all situations, offering information about the site as necessary. Monitor entrances and exits while managing the movement of people and vehicles, operating surveillance equipment as needed. Patrol the site to identify and report unsafe conditions, security violations, and unauthorized individuals. Secure evidence or incident scenes and prepare necessary logs and reports to document occurrences accurately. Actively observe and report suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate parties. Be prepared to respond to various emergencies, including medical situations, hazardous materials, and severe weather conditions, following established procedures. Carry out additional tasks as assigned for the smooth operation of the site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED required, with a preference for candidates with at least two years in armed security or law enforcement, or two years of honorable service in the US Armed Forces. COMPETENCIES: Possess valid licensing requirements for armed security work. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and make rapid judgments in emergency situations. Skilled in Microsoft Suite and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with good organizational abilities. Provide high-quality customer service with effective interpersonal skills across diverse levels and cultures. WORKING CONDITIONS: This role may require you to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, possibly working overtime and handling multiple tasks throughout the day. Physical demands may include standing, walking, climbing, and the ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds. You may work in various environments while utilizing protective gear and handling authorized weapons. You'll also be exposed to challenging circumstances, including inclement weather.
