Position Type: Special Services Professional/Behavior SpecialistDate Posted: 10/9/2025Location: Special ServicesDate Available: October 2025Primary Purpose: To provide support to classroom special education teachers in the development of discrete trial programs, verbal behavior, training associated with implementing these programs, and data collection to measure progress; to assist in the development of behavior intervention plans, and to collaborate on the development of individual education plans that are based on a variety of assessments. Education / Certification: Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or related field Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification (BCBA®) Major Responsibilities and Duties: Maintains good standing and certification status as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Serves as a member of District Autism Team. Serves as a resource person for parents and staff. Assist teachers in designing appropriate instructional programs. Assist teachers in designing appropriate environmental settings. Assists teachers in developing and planning individual modifications for students develops, conducts, or assists with professional learning sessions. Serves as a certified instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and conducts trainings as needed. Assists department with design of school-wide Positive Behavior Support plan (behavioral RtI). Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments, or assists in the development of Functional Behavior Assessments. Develops or assists in the development of Behavior Improvement Plans. Assists teachers in the development of systems to track and analyze data. Models instruction demonstrating research proven techniques. Conducts parent training sessions as needed. Oversee the development and planning for specific summer programs for students with ASD (Discovery Camp). Attends ARD meetings as needed. Makes recommendations about the selection and purchase of instructional materials. Conducts assigned duties in a manner that is professional, ethical and responsible. Keeps informed of, and complies with Federal, state, district regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Special Knowledge/ Skills Requiered: Experience in providing behavior analytic interventions including but not limited to: assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, functional behavior assessments). Understanding of behavioral principles as they apply to developing individualized education and behavior plans for students with autism spectrum disorder. Development and implementation of behavior intervention plans. Staff training in behavior reduction, replacement behaviors, social skills training, and verbal behavior. On-going intervention evaluation for skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans. Demonstrates competence in developing data collection systems that can be implemented in the classroom setting. Job Summary: Provides leadership, analysis, and support in the area of special education Behavior Analysis. Promotes quality and compliance of programs and services to improve student achievement. Facilitates the design of quality services for students with autism or other behavior challenges by working with parents, teachers, administrators, staff and students. Provide supervision hours to other Behavior Specialist seeking their BCBA using the approved sequence designed and monitored through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB®). Salary based on 2025-2026 ( $66,064 / 197 days) Salary will be adjusted to start date.
