A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity:RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details:• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM• 22-bed progressive care unit with 1:4 nurse to patient ratio• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS• Must pass open book skills exam with 90% score during orientation or face termination• One 12-hour department-specific orientation shift provided• Care for patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently• Work with CPAP equipment and troubleshoot as needed• Every other weekend requirement• Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday• May float to ICU if appropriate experience is demonstrated• Fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges• Cyclic scheduling system utilized• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment• Work alongside patient care technicians with 1:10 ratio• Epic charting system used• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities Facility:This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center providing acute care services to the community.
