Description Summary: Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the production of industrial automation equipment and assemblies. Promotes and encourages team member development while driving improvements in product cost, quality, delivery, cycle times and overall manufacturing efficiency. Principal Accountabilities (Functional): Reviews production orders and project specifications to determine product, resource and delivery requirements to establish and execute a production schedule aligned with company goals. Provides daily guidance and coordination of team members engaged in assembling electromechanical automation products, control systems, and mechanical sub-assemblies. Actively works with team members and cross-functional partners to improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance, product quality, and overall product cost. Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on Lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process optimization across the production floor. Principal Accountabilities (General Supervisory): Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and all applicable State and Federal regulations, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, and evaluating employee performance. Interprets company policy and communicates expectations to employees while enforcing safety regulations. Ensures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvements in work methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. May include participation in budget development and cost control. Develops workforce planning and utilization programs to address current and projected manufacturing needs. Includes oversight of overtime scheduling and the cost-effective use of temporary labor. Implements cross-training and skill-development plans with specific attention toward building a flexible, technically capable workforce. Establishes team and individual Critical Success Factors (CSFs), ensuring progress is measured, documented, and communicated regularly. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in resolving job-related issues. Performs additional job-related duties as required. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR Associate's Degree in a technical field and 5-7 years of related experience OR 8-9 years of directly related manufacturing leadership experience with on-the-job training. Experience in industrial automation, electromechanical assembly, or related manufacturing strongly preferred. Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality: Adheres to the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures. Uses structured problem-solving tools and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, root cause analysis, Total Cycle Time principles) to enhance work processes and product outcomes. Supports compliance efforts for industry standards and customer-specific requirements. Physical Demands: Requires frequent use of a computer for planning, documentation, communication, and production reporting. Requires the ability to understand, interpret, and work from detailed technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documents. Must be able to communicate clearly during presentations, team meetings, and cross-functional discussions.
