Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for interpreting ASME and similar industry codes.Responsible for following established quality procedures and processes.Perform inspections of purchased parts, assemblies and finished company products.Able to read and interpret P&ID and PFD drawings as required.Able to use machine tools and precision inspection instruments to determine compliance with drawing tolerances.Able to inspect and determine acceptability of units and assemblies under pressure tests (hydrostatic, snoop-leak and pneumatic).Inspects surface preparation and coatings/linings; Able to use surface preparation standards and blast comparators and DFT gauges to determine compliance with drawing tolerances.Reject and disposition subassemblies or finished products as required.Work with shop personnel for accuracy and completion of shop documentation.Prepare, maintain, and approve required quality documentation and inspection records.Work with vendors to ensure quality of purchased parts for company use.May provide Quality interface with customers and third party inspectors. May direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities.May provide QC inspections and supervision at vendor/subcontractor locations.Required Skills or Tools:High school diploma or equivalentNACE level I or II preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience in quality control inspectionAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentsAbility to read, write, speak and understand basic English, Spanish Bilingual a plusComputer literate in basic computer applications (email, MS applications, etc.)Must have working knowledge of various industry codes and local regulations, ASME, AWS, NACE, API, etc.Familiarity with ASME requirements as they apply to pressure vessels and process piping testing.
