Roles & Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate PCU and surgical oncology nursing care for adult and geriatric patients Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to rapidly identify and escalate acute changes Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions and IV antibiotics following facility protocols Manage complex drips including insulin and heparin, and care for chest tubes Follow strict infection prevention and fall-prevention protocols to protect vulnerable patients Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, PT, respiratory and social work to coordinate patient-centered care Participate in unit-based orientation and precepting to support a smooth transition onto the floor Qualifications Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years with at least 1 year of current specialty experience for a clinical pass PCU/Stepdown experience required; surgical oncology or med-surg experience strongly preferred Current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred Demonstrated competency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management Current, active RN licensure per state requirements and clear ability to work as a travel clinician Comfort with high-acuity, fast-paced surgical oncology patients and flexible to float to other acute care oncology units Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) preferred Knowledge & Skills Proficient with EPIC charting and computerized documentation Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias Chemotherapy administration and oncologic emergency recognition Experience with Alaris pumps, B450 monitors, bladder scanner and Stryker beds Skilled in chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills for rapid response situations Infection prevention practices and fall risk mitigation Benefits Generous travel perks and support to make your stay comfortable while you work away from home Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage options to keep you healthy Paid Time Off to recharge between assignments and prevent burnout Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help you stay compliant across states Travel reimbursement and help with relocation logistics so you can focus on patients Professional development support and access to continuing education A supportive, interdisciplinary team that values learning and growth Referral bonus program and recognition for great clinicians Travel Perks: Explore Columbus, OH Columbus offers a lively arts and food scene — explore the Short North for galleries and restaurants, visit the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, check out COSI and the Columbus Museum of Art, or stroll the Scioto Mile along the river.
