Logistics Dispatcher (Operations + Reconciliation Support)Role PurposeThe Logistics Dispatcher exists to plan, coordinate, and control daily logistics operations so trucks, drivers, and equipment move safely, legally, and efficiently in support of Burns Logistics projects.This role functions as the operational command center for logistics execution-owning daily dispatch performance while ensuring that all load activity is accurately captured, documented, and reconciled to support payroll and billing workflows.Success in this role means:Haul plans are accurate and executed reliablyDrivers are supported and informedDisruptions are managed earlyTicket and dispatch data are clean, complete, and trustworthyCore ResponsibilitiesOperational Control & Execution - Build for MoreOwn daily dispatch execution for assigned hauling operationsBuild and release accurate daily haul plans prior to start of operationsMaintain control throughout the day, adjusting for weather, breakdowns, jobsite delays, or staffing gapsBalance productivity, safety, and customer commitments in all dispatch decisionsSet clear expectations for drivers at the start of each shiftProtect the Burns Logistics brand through disciplined, reliable executionPlanning & Coordination - Own ItBuild daily haul plans aligned with job priorities, permits, and fleet availabilityConfirm driver readiness, truck availability, and jobsite requirements before dispatchAnticipate constraints and proactively adjust plans to prevent delays or missed loadsCoordinate with Operations Managers, Project Teams, and customers on sequencing and prioritiesEnsure drivers understand routes, schedules, and expectations before rollingProduction & Efficiency - Raise the BarMonitor load progress, cycle times, and truck utilization throughout the day Minimize idle time, deadhead miles, and unplanned downtimeMaximize loads per truck within safety and legal limitsIdentify inefficiencies and communicate improvement opportunitiesSupport consistent, predictable daily production outcomesCommunicationMaintain clear, consistent communication with drivers throughout the shiftProvide timely updates to Operations leadership on production, delays, and issuesCommunicate plan changes quickly and accuratelyEscalate problems early with context and proposed solutionsDocumentation, Ticketing & Reconciliation SupportAccurately input load and ticket data into dispatch systems in real timeEnsure all loads, delays, and exceptions are documented completely and correctlyReview haul tickets daily for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with dispatch recordsReconcile tickets against dispatch logs to identify: Missing tickets Duplicate entries Load count discrepancies Incorrect job or location dataFlag and communicate discrepancies quickly to drivers, dispatch, or operationsSupport same-day or next-day ticket reconciliation to maintain data integrityMaintain organized ticket records for traceability, audits, and reportingKey expectation: Dispatch data and ticket records must be accurate enough that payroll and billing can operate without rework.Logistics Administrative SupportSupport the Logistics Administrator in maintaining clean and organized load documentationAssist with tracking and organizing ticket flow across multiple jobs and customersHelp maintain standardized processes for ticket handling and system usageSupport data cleanup and system accuracy within dispatch platformsContribute to improving dispatch and reconciliation workflowsCompliance & Data Integrity SupportEnsure dispatch and ticket records align with company, job, and DOT requirementsSupport documentation readiness for audits, payroll verification, and billing validationIdentify and elevate documentation gaps that could impact financial or operational accuracyFollow established processes for recordkeeping and system usageWhat This Role OwnsDaily dispatch execution and controlAccuracy of dispatch data and load recordsFirst-pass accuracy of tickets entering payroll and billing workflowsReal-time visibility into production and issuesSuccess Looks LikeDaily haul plans are released on time and executed with minimal disruptionDrivers are supported and rarely confused about assignmentsMissed or incorrect loads due to dispatch are extremely rareTicket discrepancies are identified and resolved quickly-not downstreamPayroll and billing teams trust dispatch data without needing reworkOperations leadership has confidence in daily execution and reporting
