**R&D Chemist** Laboratory Columbus, Indiana, US + Added - 15/04/2026 Pay Rate Low: 25 | Pay Rate High: 30 A growing organization in a GMP-regulated environment is seeking an **R&D Chemist** to join its Research & Development team. This role is responsible for converting product concepts into physical products through formulation, laboratory testing, method validation, and plant trials. The ideal candidate will bring strong formulation experience, a solid foundation in method validation, and exposure to microbiology-related activities. Located in Columbus, IN **Direct hire** **Pay:** $25-30/hour **Key Responsibilities** + Develop and optimize formulations to support new product development + Prepare laboratory solutions and reagents + Perform routine chemical testing on products under development + Support microbiological testing activities related to product development and investigations + Write and execute method validation studies + Assist in the development and execution of cleaning and sanitization procedures + Maintain and clean R&D and production equipment following R&D use + Compile and analyze R&D data, results, and observations + Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebook documentation + Ensure adherence to GMP regulations and internal quality standards + Coordinate shipment of chemical and microbiological samples to external laboratories + Assist with batching and filling line trials + Support plant trials and scale-up activities + Perform additional duties as needed **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field (preferred) + Hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory, ideally within a manufacturing environment + Strong knowledge of formulation and method validation + Experience with chromatography techniques + Familiarity with cleaning processes for commercial pharmaceutical equipment + Microbiology background preferred, including experience with "This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
