The ADON functions as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her license and assists in overseeing nursing staff, providing guidance, supervision, and coordination of nursing services at the Center.Job Duties: · Provides clinical services and/or ensures that clinical services are covered by staff nurses.· Maintains clinical expertise and competency (to include age specific competency) as well as demonstrates thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary health care.· Documents delivery of health care and nursing process in accordance with the company policies and procedures in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.· Educates the patient and family/significant others about diagnosis and the plan of care· Acts as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary.· Coordinates the delivery of patient care provided by the health care team.· Interacts with health center personnel and assists providers to ensure optimal patient care, to obtain optimum patient flow and increased patient satisfaction.· Identifies and responds promptly to changes in a patient’s condition and/or clinic environment.· Coordinates and delegates the timely processing of patient referrals, prescribed medications, and other identified needs of the patient.· Acts as a resource within the clinic to other staff members regarding patient care.· Administers all medications accurately using the five (5) rights of medication administration, documenting medications according to health center policy and procedures.· Provides clinical oversight for nurses.· Supervises, advises, counsels, disciplines, and evaluates all nurses in conjunction with the Medical Director and VP of Operations.· Assumes responsibility/accountability for delegating, directing, and supervising patient care activities.· Works with the Medical Director in the development of standard treatment protocols for disease conditions most prevalent in the Center’s patient population.· Works with Medical Director to review and revise standard treatment protocols at least once a year to meet the medical needs of Center patients· Participates in Compliance and Performance Improvement activities for continuous quality improvement and risk management purposes.· Serves as a resourceful and positive, proactive leader for the department.· Accepts responsibility for remaining current with nursing and health care trends and information that impact nursing practice.· Participates in collaboration with the health care team in identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing patient and family needs to develop a plan of care.· Participates in the evaluation of products, procedures, and patient care standards.· Participates in the evaluation of health care at the Center and in monitoring health outcomes of patients.· Is responsible for appropriate infection control and employee health programs to include training staff and monitoring compliance.· Completes medical records and nursing documentation audits and implements system changes for the nursing staff as necessary.· Travels when necessary to fulfill the entity’s needs and attends meetings as necessary· Assists in the coordination and integration of the corporation’s medical programs and services with other corporate programs and services for the welfare of the corporation’s patients.· Assists in the provision of technical assistance and health education in the community as requested.· Performs all other duties as assigned. Education Requirements· Must be an active and currently licensed RN in good standing with the state board of nursing.· CPR certification required. Qualifications:· Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.· Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and residents' families.· Experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical training· Must be able to take call on rotation· Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills. Work Conditions: Work is typically performed in a skilled nursing facility setting, with potential exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. Full-time, part-time, or PRN shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays as needed. Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.May require occasional evening or weekend hours, particularly during outbreaks, emergencies, or survey preparation.Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for infection control purposes.May be required to lift and carry objects over 10 lbs.Must be able to assist with or maneuver equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, and Hoyer liftsFrequent walking, standing, and occasional bending or kneeling may be necessary when conducting audits or inspections throughout the facility.Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as required and lift educational materials or small equipment.Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
