Payroll ManagerColumbia, MD (hybrid, 1 day/week work from home)A growing organization within the commercial construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join their team.This role will have a strong focus on weekly payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee support, while also assisting with day-to-day HR administration.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the payroll process, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values accuracy, organization, and employee communication. The role would pay based on experience, but could range up to $125,000/year.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll accurately and on timeHandle payroll-related items including overtime, deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, and employee changesSupport compliance with payroll regulations including prevailing wage/Davis Bacon requirements, tax reporting, and labor regulationsMaintain payroll records and assist with payroll audits and reportingServe as a point of contact for employee payroll questions and issue resolutionAssist with onboarding paperwork, employee records, and HR administrationSupport recruiting coordination including interview scheduling and job postingsTrack PTO, attendance, and employee documentationMaintain confidential employee information within HRIS/payroll systemsAssist with additional administrative and HR-related projects as neededQualifications3+ years of payroll experience requiredExperience processing weekly payroll in a fast-paced environment strongly preferredExperience within construction, contracting, skilled trades, or similar industries is a plusKnowledge of prevailing wage/Davis Bacon payrollStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software requiredStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesEducationAssociate degree preferredAdditional payroll certifications or related training are a plusWhy This Opportunity?Stable and growing company environmentTeam-oriented cultureFantastic benefits (health, dental, 401K)Opportunity to take ownership of payroll operationsVariety of responsibilities across payroll and HR
