Position Summary The HR & Compliance Specialist (DOT Focus) is responsible for supporting Human Resources operations with a primary emphasis on DOT compliance, driver qualification management, and regulated onboarding . This role also supports benefits administration, HRIS (Paylocity), employee onboarding, and training coordination across a multi-location, safety-sensitive workforce. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining Driver Qualification (DQ) files , supporting DOT drug and alcohol compliance , administering group benefits , and working collaboratively with operations, safety, and management teams to ensure compliance and a smooth employee experience. _______________________________________________ Key Responsibilities DOT & Driver ComplianceMaintain and audit Driver Qualification (DQ) files in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulationsTrack and manage driver credentials, including CDL status, medical cards, MVRs, prior employment verifications, and annual reviewsCoordinate DOT drug & alcohol testing , including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testingSupport compliance with company Drug & Alcohol and Safety policies and ensure documentation accuracyAssist with DOT-related audits and compliance reviews _______________________________________________ Onboarding & Training (Safety-Sensitive Roles)Coordinate onboarding for DOT-regulated and non-DOT employeesEnsure all DOT onboarding documentation is completed prior to performing safety-sensitive functionsSupport and track new-hire safety and DOT training , including Hours of Service (HOS) and drug & alcohol awarenessMaintain accurate onboarding and training records _______________________________________________ Benefits & HR AdministrationAssist with group benefits administration , including enrollments, changes, and terminationsServe as a point of contact for employee benefits questions and vendor coordinationSupport open enrollment and benefits communicationsMaintain accurate employee records in Paylocity and ensure data integrity _______________________________________________ HRIS & Cross-Functional CollaborationUtilize Paylocity for employee records, onboarding, and HR administrationCollaborate with Operations, Safety, Managers, and Vendors to resolve HR and compliance mattersSupport HR reporting, recordkeeping, and internal controlsAssist with additional HR initiatives and administrative duties as assigned _______________________________________________ Qualifications Required2+ years of HR experience with DOT compliance and driver qualification exposureHands-on experience maintaining Driver Qualification (DQ) filesWorking knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations related to driversExperience supporting benefits administration and group insuranceProficiency with HRIS systems; Paylocity experience strongly preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation errorsAbility to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment _______________________________________________ PreferredExperience in transportation, waste, logistics, or field-based operationsFamiliarity with DOT audits or compliance reviewsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field _______________________________________________ Work EnvironmentOffice-based role with frequent interaction with operations and safety teamsFast-paced, compliance-driven environment supporting safety-sensitive employees _______________________________________________ Why Join Capital Waste Services, LLCStable and growing organization in the environmental services industryHigh-impact role supporting safety, compliance, and employee experienceCollaborative HR team with cross-functional exposureCompetitive compensation and benefits Requirements: PI934cdf70428d-29400-39896030
