This position is responsible for processing and coordinating recruitment activities, maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting onboarding and substitute management, and responding to routine HR inquiries. The HR Technician performs work within established procedures and supports compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.Reports To Chief of Human Resources Salary Range: From/To $68,185Start Date 03/02/2026 Additional Job Information ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties are normal for this position. Recruitment & Applicant Tracking Perform day-to-day administration of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Post and update job vacancies for certified and classified positions. Monitor applications and communicate routine status updates to candidates. Schedule interviews and coordinate interview logistics with designated HR team members. Assist with distribution of offer letters and pre-employment documentation. Coordinate background check and fingerprinting requirements in accordance with district procedures. HRIS & Personnel Records Enter, update, and maintain employee records in the HRIS. Process new hires, position changes, and separations. Update personnel records in the HRIS to reflect employee leaves of absence. Maintain personnel data in compliance with FERPA, district policy, and records retention requirements Generate standard HR reports such as staffing, vacancies, and headcount. Substitute Management Support Serve as the department's primary contact for substitute onboarding and system access. Assist substitutes with required paperwork, licensure documentation, and onboarding steps. Respond to routine substitute system issues and escalate complex issues as needed. Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate onboarding for new employees, including collection of required documentation. Complete employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) in accordance with federal requirements. Assist with verification of requirements and certification for the position. Assist with verification of background check clearance. Process resignations and separations and ensure timely updates to employee records. Maintain clean, current and accurate rosters of personnel in the HRIS and related systems. Employee Support & Communication Facilitates workman compensation matters. Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees, applicants, and administrators. Provide general information regarding benefits, leave processes, and district procedures. Support HR events, trainings, and employee engagement initiatives. Administrative & Compliance Support Maintain electronic and physical personnel files. Assist with audits, data requests, and state or federal reporting as assigned. Track required certifications, training, and credentials as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Associate's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. Experience with HR systems, applicant tracking systems, or administrative data entry desirable. Prior HR or public-sector administrative experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Effective customer service and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and standard office software.
