Customer Service Representative Salary: $21.50 Hourly Location: Collegeville, MN Job Type: Non-Exempt, Support Staff, Full Time Position Summary: Liturgical Press invites applications for the full-time, benefit eligible position of Customer Service Representative. Liturgical Press is internationally known as a Catholic and ecumenical publisher in prayer and spirituality, Scripture, liturgy, theology, and monastic life. Founded in 1926, the Liturgical Press is the publishing house of Saint John's Abbey, a Benedictine community located within the 3,000 acres of woods and lakes on the campus of Saint John's University in central Minnesota. Under the supervision of the Director of Sales, Customer Experience, and Business Development, this position is responsible for outbound telemarketing, as well as inbound and in-person customer service in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred). Responsibilities: Build and maintain strong relationships with an assigned portfolio of customer accounts; proactively contact accounts to recommend and sell appropriate products. Conduct outbound telemarketing calls to existing and potential customers to promote and sell products including books and periodicals. Deliver exceptional inbound customer service across multiple channels (email, live chat, phone, fax, and mail), responding promptly to inquiries and orders. Resolve issues effectively by taking appropriate action to produce win-win scenarios, coordinating with relevant departments as needed. Develop a thorough understanding of all products offered by LP and its partners to confidently guide customers and assist with purchasing decisions. Ensure accurate and timely entry of customer orders into the system, including editing and correcting orders, processing payments and credit charges, returns, invoicing, and handling a variety of payment methods in compliance with LP order credit guidelines. Add new customer accounts and update existing records with precision; maintain clean data by auditing for duplicates and updating contact information. Provide customer service to walk-in customers in our showroom as needed or directed. This includes knowing the products and their prices and how to process their purchases. Assist with book inventory and stock replenishment when asked. Retrieve e-mail and phone messages and web-site orders as needed. Assist in the opening and distribution of mail as directed. Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals. Qualifications: High school diploma and post-secondary education or equivalent experience required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: One to two years' experience in customer service, preferably telephone-related. Some college coursework or a degree in a related field (e.g., Literature/English, Religion, Philosophy, Humanities). Working knowledge, and ability to communicate understanding of Catholic Liturgy and practice, including but not limited to the liturgical calendar, the sacraments, and parish and diocesan structure. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Fluency in English (required) and Spanish (preferred), both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a fast-learning curve. Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a kind, helpful, service-oriented and professional manner. Highly organized and self-motivated; proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient in operating data processing systems, including computer terminals, printers and personal computers. Accurate and efficient typist, at least 35wpm PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required. ADDITIONAL REQUISITES: Project an image of service which represents the Order of Saint Benedict and its corporate divisions. Actively cooperate with the character and mission of the Order of Saint Benedict and its corporate divisions. A willingness to maintain a high level of competence.
