POSITION SUMMARY The Key Accounts Coordinator is responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) commercial, industrial and residential utility customers to meet their needs and provide leadership and value-added services. This role ensures reliable service delivery, supports customer operational needs and connects them with all available utility energy efficiency programs, rates and technical resources. The Key Accounts Coordinator will act as the primary liaison between the customer and the utility, ensuring all needs are met while supporting the mission of the utility.RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONSServe as the primary point of contact for key commercial and industrial customersMonitor service quality and reliability metrics for key accounts and coordinate with Engineering, Finance and other CBPU departments to address customer concernsConduct onsite visits, facility walk-throughs and periodic account reviews with customersCollaborate with internal departments to resolve customer requests or service issuesAnalyze and collect customer meter data as needed and work with the Engineering Department to conduct or coordinate technical analysis of consumption and recommend ways of improving customer operationsMeet with developers to discuss new construction and market the City/CBPU's ability to provide utility servicesResponsible for the management and coordination of the Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) program to deliver competitive programs, energy efficiency services and savings for residential, commercial and industrial customers within budgetAssist and educate customers on energy savings, verify and process applications and authorize rebate checks per Energy Efficiency and Optimization program guidelinesEnsure an accurate tracking and recording system to provide to a third-party evaluation company, per requirements of all local, state and federal policiesNegotiate, administer, manage and maintain working relationships with various third-party contractors for implementation of Energy Optimization programs for residential, commercial, industrial and income eligible programs to optimize program resultsCoordinate and administer the annual Household Hazardous Waste ProgramPerform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Exceptional project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, tasks and resourcesStrong customer service background and passion for serving customers and demonstrate an overall understanding of what it means to deliver an exceptional customer experienceAbility to communicate and coordinate with a wide variety of professionals ranging from engineers, accountants, vendors, subcontractors and residential/commercial and industrial customersAbility to address and successfully resolve customer issues and concerns using sound business judgment and decisivenessAbility to analyze data and translate technical findings into clear business value to stakeholdersStrong budgeting and forecasting skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and utility billing softwareAbility to communicate orally and in writing effectively, clearly and conciselyAbility to maintain strict confidentialityTRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Engineering or related fieldThree (3) to five (5) years of experience in Customer Relations, Account Management, Utility Rate Billing preferredKnowledge of utility operations, rate structures and energy management concepts desirableMunicipal and/or Utility experience a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment described herein are representative of those an individual may encounter while performing the essential functions of the job.
