Compensation: $13.00 Compensation Type: Hourly Employment Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Grade: NE17 Department: Recreation Position Summary The Part-Time Lifeguard maintains the pool and related facilities. This individual will rescue swimmers in distress, apply resuscitation, and administer emergency care when needed. Position is contingent upon Campus Operations/COVID-19 Restrictions. Duties & Responsibilities Will ensure water safety and enforce all safety rules in and out of the water. Will constantly observe participants in the pool. Maintains pool and pool equipment; assists in other routine activities relating to pool operations, such as college activities, etc. Maintains order and discipline among swimmers and other persons at the pool. Assists supervisor in carrying out pool procedures. Must be able to work nights, evenings, weekends, holidays and flexible schedules. Requires frequent sitting and moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 100 lbs. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a Valid Lifeguard Certification. Must be able to pass a swimming performance test. Must have effective communication skill and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must be 18 years old or older.
