As a Safety Specialist, you"ll play a key role in creating a workplace where every employee goes home safe, every day. You"ll lead initiatives that strengthen our safety culture, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and empower employees with the knowledge and tools they need to work safely.This role is handsâon, collaborative, and highly visible across the organization. You"ll partner with operations, leadership, and crossâfunctional teams to reduce risk, investigate incidents, and drive proactive improvements that make a real impact on our people and our business.â Minimum QualificationsBachelor"s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent experience3+ years of safety experienceExperience facilitating and leading crossâfunctional teamsStrong background in developing and delivering safety training at all organizational levelsPractical experience with safety process improvementWorking knowledge of OSHA regulationsFamiliarity with basic medical terminologyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detailSkilled at influencing without direct authorityâ Preferred QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing environmentMaster"s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related fieldExperience developing and managing safety content within a Learning Management System (LMS)Experience interacting with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies? Major AccountabilitiesChampion a safe working environment across all Charter Steel locationsMaintain accurate safety documentation to ensure OSHA complianceCoordinate and deliver newâhire safety orientationSupport, develop, and actively participate in Safety TeamsDevelop, coordinate, and deliver ongoing safety trainingConduct and document safety inspections and auditsDevelop, maintain, and audit Risk Assessments and Safe Work PracticesPartner with teams to identify root causes of incidents and implement corrective actionsCollaborate with Safety Team members across the business to ensure consistency in programs and standardsMaintain and oversee the safety documentation systemFollow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System proceduresMeet all essential job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation?
