This position requires the ability to properly load, secure, transport, and unload equipment, as well as safely operate the equipment being hauled. Key Roles / Responsibilities: Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle with lowboy, detachable, or other heavy haul trailers. Load and unload heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, loaders, and similar machinery. Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved tie-down methods in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck, trailer, and equipment. Ensure compliance with all DOT, federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations. Obtain and verify proper permits for oversized and overweight loads when required. Perform basic preventive maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, mileage records, and other required documentation. Communicate effectively with supervisors and job site personnel. Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and the public. Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: Valid CDL Class A license required. Minimum 2+ years of CDL driving experience preferred (heavy haul experience strongly preferred). Ability to safely operate heavy equipment being transported (bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment). Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening. Strong understanding of load securement regulations and oversized load requirements. Ability to read and follow maps, GPS systems, and permit routing instructions. Working Conditions: Prolonged periods sitting in a truck cab for long periods of time. Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness. Long term physical fitness for duty to maintain all licenses and certifications of fitness as required by regulatory agencies and licensing entities (DMV, FAA, DOT, et cetera). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Determine the distance between objects. React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet. Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place. Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
