They receive or obtain specimens for laboratory analysis, and applies techniques used in fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, immunohematology, chemical and morphological examinations. They record laboratory test results and may be engaged in research.EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:Minimum:Strong general knowledge of all areas of the Clinical LaboratoryDesired:Previous Laboratory experienceLICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:Minimum:Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist licenseDesired:ASCP Registration as a Medical TechnologistSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols and handling requirements for biohazard materials. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
