This opportunity is for a Substitute Paraprofessional position supporting two first-grade students participating in an Autism-specific program in a school located in Flinstone, GA. The role involves providing supervision during specific activities outside the classroom, including lunch, recess, and other scheduled social interactions. These students are non-verbal or low verbal, use assistive technology, and may display behaviors such as crying, self-hitting, and challenges with turn-taking and task focus. Key responsibilities include: Supervising students during lunch (10:35 AM - 11:00 AM), recess (12:15 PM - 12:35 PM), and activity time (12:40 PM - 1:25 PM) Providing consistent, attentive support to help students engage in social settings outside the classroom environment Assisting with behavior management and ensuring student safety during supervision times Collaborating with the Autism program team and following individual student support plans Qualifications and experience: Willingness to obtain or possession of a Georgia RESA substitute certificate or a GA PSC Paraprofessional Certificate Experience or interest in working with students with autism or similar special needs preferred Ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly and effectively Strong communication skills and patience when supporting non-verbal or low verbal students This is a contract position effective immediately through May 22, 2026, located at a school in Flinstone, GA, near Chickamauga.
