Position: Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician/Electro Mechanic Location: Chatham, NY Shift: Swing shift (alternates weekly between 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm) Pay: Depends Upon Experirnce $2500 Sign-on Bonus paid in 90-day increments plus Benefits Qualifications: Experience in an industrial environment or military experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls. Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to work independently in an off-shift position with rotating shifts, including weekends. What You'll Be Doing: Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production. Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer. Assisting and training other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds. Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. Managing small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment. Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understand and follow safety policies and procedures, performing all tasks safely and leading by example. Identify safety risks and work to reduce risks in behavior, equipment, and processes. Create, document, and perform strong preventive/predictive maintenance tasks/procedures to eliminate equipment breakdown failures. Quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues and implement optimum corrective actions. Communicate effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions. Participate in proactive maintenance activities such as FMEA's, RCCA, and Analytical Troubleshooting (ATS). Document work done in sufficient detail for future analysis. Maintain exceptional housekeeping in their own personal areas. Utilize proper tools for each job and identify damaged tools. Perform precision welding based on the required application. Demonstrate proficiency in shop tools, such as lathes, drills, milling machines, etc. Read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the reliability of various equipment. Understand overall equipment operation and apply knowledge to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and reliability. Develop, modify, read, troubleshoot, and install PLC programs. Install, troubleshoot, and repair AC and DC drives/motors. Fabricate and install electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
