Job title: Transportation SupervisorReports to: Transportation ManagerRole overviewThis role is responsible for leading and overseeing daily outbound delivery operations, ensuring our unparalleled portfolio of beer and wine are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time to customers and other warehouses throughout the state. As a key link between the distribution center and a beverage's final stop, this role combines strong leadership, logistical expertise, and a commitment to safety while supporting drivers in a fast-paced distribution environment.Duties and responsibilitiesDirect and supervise the work and productivity of driversEnsure all drivers are appropriately trained in job duties and safety & legal responsibilitiesAnticipate, analyze, and troubleshoot challenges with deliveries, preparing cost-effective and legal solutionsSchedule drivers appropriately according to division devised methodologyFoster an atmosphere of communication, motivating associates to achieve goals and objectivesMaintain accurate records for all driversAssist in investigation of all accidents; maintain incident records and take appropriate preventative actionOrganize and load product for delivery, ensuring efficient delivery routes and schedulesRun delivery routes in the absence of coverage to ensure that all deliveries are madeMaintain appropriate delivery records and documentsQualificationsREQUIREDMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or GED3 years transportation or delivery experienceMust be able to interpret and implement all necessary State and Federal transportation laws and regulationsMust have a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordExcellent customer service skillsOutstanding verbal & written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and within time constraints with minimal errorsMust be a team player and work well under minimal supervisionKnowledge of safe work practicesAbility to operate various tools or warehouse equipment as necessaryPREFERRED2 years of transportation or fleet supervisor experiencePrevious food service or beverage distribution experienceProficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointWorking conditionsThe employee will perform work in the following environments:Warehouse dockCustomer locations and on route when filling in for driversThe noise level in these areas is normally moderate. Employees must be able to work in changing weather conditions and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all environments.Physical requirementsMust be able to safely lift up to 20 lbs. continually (15+ loads per hour)Must be able to safely lift up to 30 lbs. frequently (10-15 loads per hour)Must be able to safely lift between 50 and 175 lbs. occasionally (1-10 loads per hour)Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, squat, reach, and stretch frequently (3-5 hours per day)Must be able to climb, drive, sit, and use repetitive hand and foot fine motor skills occasionally (1-4 hours per day)Why Join Tryon?At Tryon, we take pride in our people as much as our portfolio.
