The successful candidate will be involved in conducting geotechnical analysis for mining projects, assembling and calibrating numerical models, generating technical reports, and supporting senior engineers with field studies and data collection. Additional duties include assisting in the design and evaluation of ground control layouts, stability assessments, and contributing to innovative solutions for complex geotechnical challenges.Responsibilities OverviewDevelop and run numerical models using FLAC3D, RS2, RS3 (and similar tools)Conduct geotechnical analyses for open pit slopes and underground excavationsInterpret geological and geotechnical data for model input and calibrationDevelop new techniques and methods to solve mining problems.Assist in ground support design and stability assessmentsPrepare technical reports, documentation, and presentationPerform field work in support of geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological investigationsĀ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mining, geology, and operationsSupport senior team members in various project tasksQualificationsBachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field1-5 years of relevant experience in rock mechanics or geotechnical engineeringHands-on experience with numerical modeling software (FLAC3D, RS2, RS3, SLIDE, SLIDE3, EX3)Strong understanding of rock mass classification systems (e.g., RMR, Q-system)Familiarity with both open pit and underground mining environmentsSolid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsA commitment to safety and sustainabilityExperience with visualization software (Surfer, Leapfrog, CAD, etc.) and scripting/programming (Python, C++, etc.)Nice to have - experience with 3D modeling and large-scale simulations and/or exposure to field instrumentation and monitoring data interpretation
