Job Description:
This is for a Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 330om schedule! The Facility Technician performs a variety of routine and skilled tasks involving general maintenance of CODES's facilities, equipment, and grounds. Wide range of facilities services tasks including/ but not limited to non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith. . Makes routine plumbing repairs, replaces lighting, and makes electrical related repairs. Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Works independently on routine recurring assignments or assists another worker in performing more complex tasks. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees. Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and learns safety regulations and practices safety precautions. Reads and interprets blueprints, machine manuals, and schematic drawings to assist in making plumbing and electrical repairs. Comprehends written materials. Uses Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures, and appropriate equipment in completing assignments. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check. Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally. Experience with electrical, HVAC systems, and refrigeration systems Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of basic machine operations Knowledge of three-phase motors and controls up to 480 volts. Knowledge of the use and care of commonly used equipment and tools Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in temperature extremes for extended periods of time. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a can do attitude. Available to work weekends and holidays as needed. Reliable transportation High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 1 years experience with mechanical responsibilities Post-secondary trade or vocational school preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of formal education preferred Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions. The ability to work in low light situations.
