Computed Tomography Tech | Carthage, Illinois

A healthcare facility in Carthage, IL is seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist with expertise in computed tomography (CT) to support their imaging department on a contract basis. This role offers the chance to apply your imaging skills across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care. Responsibilities: Perform a variety of general imaging exams, including X-rays and CT scans, following established protocols Ensure patient safety and comfort by providing clear guidance and support throughout procedures Operate and maintain radiology equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards Document imaging results accurately in electronic medical records and manage image storage with PACS systems Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to review findings and optimize patient outcomes Participate in department orientation and maintain compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety Current BLS/CPR certification required Proven experience with CT imaging and solid general imaging skills Comfortable using Merge-PACS, Cerner/HIS, and RIS systems Preferred experience with GE, Phillips, Carestream, and Siemens radiology equipment Flexibility to float among inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department areas as needed Schedule & Working Conditions: First shift: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with weekend and holiday rotations Approximately 100 exams per day workload No IV starts or on-call duties required Radiologist support available on-site Dress code includes ciel blue tops and black bottoms; scrubs provided Department-specific orientation provided About Carthage, Illinois: Nestled in a community known for its welcoming atmosphere and scenic surroundings, Carthage offers a peaceful small-town feel with access to nearby amenities.
