Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Electronics Technician" for a Contract position with a client located in Carson, CA.Pay Range: $38 - $40/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.).Role Summary: The Sr. Electronics Technician performs technical work in the maintenance, repair, calibration and installation of various electronic equipment distributes and maintains laboratory test equipment for engineers; ensures efficient operation of laboratory environment; and arranges for repair and calibration of major equipment.Under general supervision, perform skilled duties in the soldering PCB components, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of equipment in the Electronics Laboratory; maintain, trouble shoot and repair high power electronics products (up to 8KW) such as 3 phase power supply, motor drives etc., and perform related work as required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair electronic device board circuitry. Failure investigation to component levelMust have hands on experience in SMT parts soldering (e.g. replacing microprocessors,Provide manufacturing test support, troubleshooting, fault isolation and corrective actionsCreate test reports for functional and performance testing of electronics productsConducts engineering/development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design dataSupport product testing during integration, functional, design verification, performance and qualification testing phasesInstalls components, units and printed circuit boards following specificationsFabricates parts, cables, and test fixtures. Maintains all work related equipment, passive load, test fixtures, etc.,Maintains and writes work procedures and all related documentation for each task performedCustomizes units and makes adjustments or repairs according to written specificationsOrders and maintains inventory of replacement parts for electronic test equipment; maintains warranty, service and repair records; works with vendors to obtain pricing and availability of needed parts; performs quality checks on newly delivered equipment to ensure proper operation. Maintains records on equipment repairs, warranties and schematicsCreate ADCNs for minor electronics assembly rework instructions per IPC standardsCreate engineering test and status reportsInterface with customers/supplier as needed to support troubleshooting the electronics assemblySpecial Skills & KnowledgeHands on experience of using electronics equipment such as programmable power supplies, high speed digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers etc.Understanding & testing knowledge of serial communication hardwarePossess a strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. Ability to communicate, ability to work in a team environmentHands on using design/simulation tools such as Altium/OrcadDesign prototype printed circuit board assembly test fixturesCompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Analytical - Knowledge of electronic systems.
