Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I

EMSL is seeking a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I in Carle Place, NY. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Receive environmental samples from in person customers and shipping carriers Open packages; handle, count, sort environmental samples to ensure sample integrity is retained Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness Enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system for all lab divisions Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations Generate invoices and reports for clients as needed Assist with customer or client questions via in person, phone, and e-mail Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service Proficient in MS Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele Able to work in a high volume environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team with self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and sit and stand for various lengths of time Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance Available Shift: Position is full-time, Monday to Friday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Carle Place, NY are encouraged to apply.
