DescriptionJOB SUMMARY Under the direction and limited supervision of the COO/CEO and the Medical Director, performs administrative duties of supervision within the department, responsible for directing departmental activities, technologist, and ancillary personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises laboratory staff. Responsible for laboratory equipment. Supervises quality control and quality assurance activities. Develops laboratory policies and procedures in conjunction with the COO/CEO and the laboratory Medical Director. Under direction of the Medical Director and COO/CEO, supervises Waived Testing throughout the organization, including Forest Hill. Responsible for laboratory safety and health. Maintains an adequate stock of supplies. Provides reports to various hospital departments. Maintains competencies in all Laboratory testing modalities and works on bench as needed to maintain appropriate staffing levels in the department. RequirementsEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE • Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and have at least 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing. • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution preferable. • Certification by ASCP is strongly recommended. • A minimum of 4 years of training or experience or both in non-waived testing.
