Start Date: July 1st (with the ability to train in April/May) Position Type: Full-time, 170 days per year Location: Mountain View Core Knowledge School Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the School Secretary Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education. $18.49-28.49 per hour/Minimum Pay Benefits Include: Health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, paid time off, as well as other optional benefit elections. Purpose of the Job: The Secretary to the Principal acts as the office manager and provides office and clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of the school. Responsible for attending to visitors to the school and dealing with inquiries on the phone and face to face, supplying information regarding the school to the general public and general office support for the administration and staff. Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Graduate or equivalent Experience: Similar secretarial/personnel related experience Licenses/Certificates: Valid Colorado Driver's License Other Criteria: Criminal background check required on hire. Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public. Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities. Competent understanding of technology to perform the job. Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs). Ability to work cooperatively in an office atmosphere with staff members, students and the public. Ability to maintain control under pressure. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Proven effective people skills. A team player. Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills. Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications. Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel. Comfortable with high paced environment and ability to serve others. Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology. Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements. Responsible for correspondence including: mail delivery, typing, copying, processing outgoing letters and reports and composing routine letters for the building administrator(s). Screen principal's phone calls, make appointments, and keep the principal's calendar. Demonstrate reliability in all work situations. Develop, promote and maintain positive working relations among community and school clientele. Present a professional appearance personally and in the work area. Proficiency in grammar, spelling and proofreading. Organizational and time management skills, including filing and record keeping, budget management, ability to handle multiple tasks, and flexibility. Exercise initiative in developing appropriate procedures to accomplish assignments. Responsible for decisions requiring judgment to apply general guidelines to work situation. Support school in arrangement through substitutes in the absence management system. Responsible for online ordering and budget management for the school and staff. Purchasing card management. Attendance at secretary meetings. Other duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge, Equipment & Other: Ability to use a variety of office machines. Excellent word processing/keyboarding skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Computer, phone, copy machines, FAX machines, and other general office equipment. The noise level in the work environment ranges is generally quiet with occasional increase when working events or with equipment. Must be able to work in person. Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze and compute.
