Property Accountant | Real Estate Owner, Manager and Developer | Semi-RemoteA prestigious development and property management firm which owns a significant national portfolio of commercial and residential properties is seeking an ambitious Property Accountant to join their team of topnotch professionals. This role will oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting process for the designated portfolio of commercial office and residential properties. This is a hands-on role within a very professional, stable and collaborative environment. RESPONSIBILITIESPerform monthly, quarterly and annual financial and property reporting, which includes maintaining the property general ledger and subsidiary general ledgers, preparing and posting journal entries, preparing and analyzing monthly accrual basis financial statements.Prepare annual operating budget and revised forecasts with appropriate support.Prepare detailed audit work paper packages in connection with year-end financial audit. Prepare annual Building Operating Expense report, Certiorari report, Audited Financial Statements with supporting footnotes.Prepare all Debt Compliance reports and any other lender requests.Coordinate accounting procedures and controls with property personnel and corporate operations staff.Review all accounts payable invoices submitted from the field and in-house for propriety of the expense and proper classification in the general ledger. Review accounts receivable periodically to determine developing tenant problems, propriety of cash posting, and liquidity of property.Prepare appropriate reconciliations on a timely basis (i.e. monthly for cash and receivables).Maintain lease abstract binder (including lease abstracts, amendments and terminations).Maintain and update fixed asset system.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSBachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.2+ years of public accounting and/or private real estate experience.Knowledge of commercial management software (i.e. Yardi, MRI, etc.).Highly motivated individual with good analytical and interpersonal skills.Detail oriented and have the ability and willingness to work extra hours when required in order to meet deadlines. An ideal candidate should be able to identify and research issues and be able to present them to management. Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 plus bonus, comprehensive health benefits, generous paid time off, 401k match and many other valuable perks.
