Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Position Title Research Support Specialist in the National Crystallization Center Classification Title Research Support Specialist Department Biochemistry Posting Number R250179 Posting Link Employer Research Foundation Position Type RF Clerical/Technical Job Type Full-Time Appointment Term Salary Grade N.11 Posting Detail Information Position Summary The Research Support Specialist is responsible for day-to-day operations for optimization crystallization services in the National Crystallization Center (NCC), as well as assisting with the high-throughput operations. The NCC is a research facility serving the structural biology community, that focuses on advancing crystallization science and providing researchers access to state-of-the-art experimental methods for generating macromolecular crystals for structure determination. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field * Some experience working in a laboratory * Highly collaborative and team-oriented approach to conducting work and solving problems * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Willingness to acquire new skills and ask questions Preferred Qualifications * Laboratory skills including pipetting, accurate weighing, microscopy, and molecular biology skills * Experience with structural biology and knowledge of protein crystallization experimental set-up * Familiarity with electronic record keeping and Laboratory Information Management Systems Physical Demands * Time spent standing during laboratory work * Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Salary Range $35,000 - $40,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
