About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Customs Specialist to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics. The Noatum Logistics Customs Specialist is involved in daily customs brokerage activities including, but not limited to reviewing documentation, entry-writing, evaluating compliance needs, and making recommendations. The specialist ensures clients are provided with timely and accurate clearance services and communicates with clients to ensure compliant customs transactions. The customs specialist develops a thorough understanding of our clients' shipping requirements and patterns; demonstrates sound customer service and data entry skills; and develops job related knowledge to support growth within current position and further career development. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare customs entries and bonds, primarily air and ocean, with some cross-border. * Enter customs data to meet regulatory and tracking requirements. * Ensure regulatory requirements are met and proper documentation, including transit and customs clearance documents, exist for shipments. * Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to customs representatives, carriers, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner. * Complete all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (customs clearance, etc.) as specified by customer standard operating procedures. * Complete accurate billing to clients based on established client pricing, while ensuring appropriate costs and profits are maintained. * Utilize knowledge of Inco terms and commercial invoice requirements to provide guidance to customers and other team members, as needed. * Arrange the transfer and delivery of shipments with appropriate partners. * Develop and maintain successful relationships with clients, government agencies and local vendors (e.g., custom brokers, customs officials, airline representatives, freight forwarders, local pickup and delivery companies, regional trucking companies, line haul providers) * Prepare timely customs management information and reports as requested or specified per department KPIs. * Provide support to team members with training activities and audit oversight. * Maintain client specific HTS databases. * Assist with Global Trade Management projects as needed including classification, post entry filing, auditing, etc. * Increase Noatum value proposition by utilizing compliance expertise to provide support regarding classification, documentation, and other government agencies to clients. * Participate as an effective team member with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. * Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations. * Comply with all necessary procedures to assure a clean, properly organized, safe and healthy environment for all personnel. What We Are Looking For: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Operational experience in customs brokerage, preferably with an international logistics provider. * Operational experience in customs brokerage processes, including preparing, filing, and auditing customs entries. * Experienced in working with Participating Government Agencies involved in the customs clearance process. * Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and international laws and regulations as they relate to primary services provided (i.e., customs, security, other import and export government agencies that regulate international trade). * Excellent customer service skills. * Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. * Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite). * Knowledge and experience in customs entry software. * 5+ years customs brokerage experience, preferably with an international freight forwarder. * Certified Customs Specialist (CCS). * U.S. Customs Broker License. * College degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education. * CargoWise One platform experience. * Some leadership experience, as this is a senior level position.
