Our client, a leading provider of detox and addiction recovery services, is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join their dedicated team in Brooklyn, NY. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluation with relevant history, mental status examination, and health assessment based on the patient's mental health history or change in mental health status. Conduct patient related research using resources such as PSYCKES. Conducting screenings and evaluations using assessment tools. Develop a treatment plan based on patient's mental health diagnosis. Prescribe and manage patient's psychotropic medications. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on executing patient-centered care. Attend discharge planning meetings. Responsible for documenting accurate assessments while remaining HIPAA compliant. Collaborate with the clinical team regarding individual sessions and disease management. Provide patients with educational materials and information needed to make well informed choices. Assume responsibility for the development and realization of patient care plans. Provide a safe environment for the patient and promote patient advocacy at the individual and community levels. Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records. Provide excellent patient care. Qualifications: Master of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from an accredited educational institution. Valid and in good standing NYS Nurse Practitioner License. Valid and in good standing DEA license. Meet the qualifications of, and practice within the parameters as stated in Chapter 257 of the New York State Education Law, Article 139. Experience in substance abuse treatment preferred. Position requires constant mental alertness, attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills. Smart, driven, and exceptional work ethic. Ability to work well in a group setting and autonomously. Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
