Overview Provides a variety of administrative and patient assisting services for department. Responsibilities * Schedule and register patient appointments using office scheduling systems and AHS. * Manage patient check-in/check-out and patient flow during office hours. * Schedule and obtain authorization for surgical procedures, including non-participating insurance plans. * Schedule post-operative and radiology appointments; ensure referrals and required documentation are received. * Process diagnostic interpretations and coordinate clinical information needed for patient scheduling. * Collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure effective patient care before and after visits or procedures. * Answer and route telephone calls, take messages, and provide routine information to patients and staff. * Assist patients in navigating resources within the Cancer Center and coordinate post-care services when needed. * Perform general clerical duties and assist with special projects, meetings, and other assigned responsibilities. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required * 1-2 years of college preferred * 2-3 years of patient expeditor or patient navigator experience required * Typing proficiency * Knowledge of medical terminology * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills * Ability to speak, read, and write English as required for the position Pay Range USD $25,789.00 - USD $32,237.00 /Yr.
