Maintenance Worker - Boardwalk Repair Coney Island NYC Parks is the steward of over 30,000 acres of land 14% of New York City. We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1,000 playgrounds, 1,800 basketball courts, 550 tennis courts, 65 public pools, and 51 recreational facilities. From the iconic Central Park to neighborhood playgrounds, we own and operate some of the most spectacular green spaces in the world. Perks: All Parks employees receive free membership to our recreation centers. Major Responsibilities: Maintain, adjust and repair building hardware and equipment. Conduct general maintenance of properties and facilities, including refuse material. Inspect facilities and properties, make repairs and remove graffiti. Make minor repairs to masonry, woodwork, flooring and walls. Make minor repairs to building electrical, plumbing and heating systems. Keep accurate logs and records of daily activities. Duration: 7 months, April 2026 to November 2026 Work Location: Brooklyn Fees: Hired candidates will be subject to a processing fee of $40.00. Hired candidates who are not currently employed by the City will be subject to a $104.50 background check fee. Minimum Qualifications: Three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a mechanic, journeyperson or helper in the electrical trades, the mechanical trades, or the construction or maintenance of buildings; or At least two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above plus sufficient full-time training or education in the electrical, mechanical or construction trades in a trade school, technical school or vocational high school to make up the equivalent of three years of acceptable experience. Six months of experience will be credited for each year of full-time acceptable training or education. This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
