Salary: $24.53 - $28.06 Hourly Location : Brookfield, WI Job Type: Part Time Job Number: 2026-17 Department: POLICE Opening Date: 03/04/2026 Closing Date: 3/29/2026 11:59 PM Central DescriptionPURPOSE: The Fleet Services Assistant is responsible for the assessing and performing of all day to day routine maintenance and cleaning for all Police Department fleet vehicles, and all related police equipment. Incumbents may be scheduled to work a day, evening, or weekend shift, with weekly hours averaging between 15 and 25 on an annual basis Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assesses day to day fleet repair, performs preventive maintenance, and provides equipment replacement needs. Performs minor fleet maintenance duties including but not limited to: transporting fleet vehicles and police equipment to and from vendors; minor vehicle repairs; cleaning and vacuuming vehicles as needed; and monitoring and restocking needed parts, bulbs, fluids, cleaning materials, and other supplies. Promotes and maintains positive Department public relations with customers, including City departments and staff, vendors, and the community in general. Use of Microsoft software to document squad repairs and maintenance tracking. Safe handling of department weapon systems and storage procedures. Assists with fleet snow removal during inclement weather. Performs other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: Vehicle mechanical experience preferred, but not required. Valid Wisconsin driver's license. Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.
